Tadej Pogačar reveals what pushes him beyond any other athlete — you won’t believe it! “I love the feeling of pushing myself to the limit… But the most important thing isn’t competing, it’s…” “From nutrition to quiet moments, I live like a normal guy — not a superhero.” 👉 Discover the surprising truth about this cycling star!

In an exclusive interview released during the 2025 holiday season, Tadej Pogačar, the Slovenian phenomenon who has dominated world cycling with four Tour de France wins (2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025), the 2024 Giro d’Italia and two consecutive Road World Championships, opened his heart like never before.

The 27-year-old, fresh off a 2025 season that saw him triumph again at the Tour de France and defend the rainbow, confessed what really motivates him to overcome human limits, leaving fans speechless.

Sitting in his home in Munich, next to his girlfriend and fellow professional Urška Žigart, Pogačar appeared relaxed, with a shy smile that contrasts with his reputation as “Cannibal 2.0”.

“I love the feeling of pushing myself to the limit…” he began, describing his legendary solo escapes, such as the one at the 2024 and 2025 World Championships where he attacked over 100km from the finish line.

“It’s a unique adrenaline rush, that moment when the body screams to stop but the mind says ‘keep going’. It makes me feel alive, it reminds me why I started cycling as a child in Klanec, Slovenia.”

But here comes the shocking revelation: Pogačar interrupted the speech, his eyes shining, to say: “But the most important thing is not to compete, it’s to go home to Urška and my family.” These words – simple, authentic – moved millions of followers on social media, where the interview was shared in a few hours.

Tadej, who in 2024 renounced the Paris Olympics also out of solidarity with Urška (excluded from the Slovenian selection despite her national titles), explained how his partner is the true engine of his greatness.

“Urška understands everything: the fatigue, the pressure, the sacrifices. When I’m exhausted after a Tour or a Monument, she’s the one who brings me back to reality. We cook together, watch TV series like ‘Schitt’s Creek’ or ‘Monk’, go for normal walks.

Without her, I wouldn’t be the same athlete.” Pogačar revealed intimate anecdotes: “Sometimes, during the hardest climbs, I think of her. It motivates me more than any trophy. And family… my parents, brothers: they remind me of where I come from.

I’m not a superhero, I live like a normal guy.”

This confession comes at a time when Pogačar is at the absolute top: with 10 Monuments won (including five consecutive Il Lombardia), a palmarès that already places him among the greatest of all time, compared to Eddy Merckx.

Yet, he insists: “From nutrition to quiet time, I live like an ordinary guy — not a superhero.” He follows strict meal plans with nutritionist Gorka Prieto, but at home indulges in pizza or ice cream with Urška. “I’m not perfect: I train hard, but I love simple things.

A coffee in the morning, a chat with friends, an evening on the sofa.”

Experts agree: this humility is the secret of his superiority.

Former champion Miguel Indurain said: “He has strength, team and motivation, but it is his personal balance that makes him unbeatable.” Even Romain Bardet, who will retire in 2025, admitted: “Pogačar races in another category, but he remains human.” In 2025, Tadej faced doping suspicions after historic performances, calmly replying: “There will always be jealousy.”

Now, with the 2026 calendar including Spring Classics, Tour de France and perhaps the Vuelta, Pogačar is looking ahead: “I want to improve further, try Roubaix again, win everything.

But in the end, I always come home.” Urška, for her part, has commented in the past: “Tadej is stress-free, he always says ‘everything will be fine’. We complete each other: I think about the bills, he thinks about the dreams.”

This “surprising truth” – that the strongest in the world is driven by love for family and normal life – has conquered the web. Hashtags like #PogaNormalGuy and #TadejCuore are trending globally. Fans write: “This is what makes him legendary: not just his legs, but his heart.”

In a cycling often dominated by fierce rivalries (with Vingegaard, Evenepoel, Van der Poel), Pogačar teaches that true strength comes from the roots. “I don’t run for history, I run to be happy. And happiness is Urška, family, a ride without pressure.”

As the world awaits his next exploits — perhaps a Giro-Tour-World Championship hat-trick attempt or all three Grand Tours in one year — one thing is clear: Tadej Pogačar is not just the king of the pedal, he is a man who has found the perfect balance between extreme limits and ordinary life.

And this, more than any yellow jersey, makes him unstoppable.
