The world of football has been shaken by sudden news concerning one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe. The Saudi billionaire Sheikh al-Fahd has in fact publicly confirmed its strong interest in the acquisition of Inter Milan, declaring in no uncertain terms: “I will lead Inter to the throne of Europe and world football”. Words that have immediately gone around the world and turned on the spotlight on yet another Arab investment attempt in European football.

According to sources close to the operation, Al-Fahd presented a formal offer of over 1.3 billion euros to detect the totality of the corporate shares of Inter, including existing debts and with an additional investment plan of 500 million intended for the strengthening of the team, infrastructure and global expansion of the Nerazzurri brand. It would be the highest economic proposal ever received by the Suning property.
The Saudi magnate, known for its strategic investments in different sectors between the Middle East and Asia, would have already brought together an international team of managers and sports consultants with the aim of bringing Inter back to the top of European football in a short time. Among the first moves in the event of acquisition, there would be a new avant -garde stadium, a technologically advanced sports center and ambitious market operations to attract top player top players.
However, the official response of the Inter Board of Directors has left everyone speechless. In a sober but decisive press release, the company thanked Al-Fahd for the interest shown, but reiterated “the desire to continue the project with the current governance, strong of the sporting and financial results achieved in recent years and of the stability built with sacrifice and long-term vision”.
This position has surprised many observers, especially considering the economic difficulties faced recently by the Suning Group. But from inside the club filters trust: we focus on technical continuity, sustainability and a sporting vision consistent with the historical identity of the club.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri fans are divided between enthusiasm for the pharaonic promises of the potential buyer and pride for the choice not to give in to the charm of money, respecting the tradition and dignity of the club. It remains to be seen if Al-Fahd will insist on a new offer or if it will be oriented towards other shores. One thing is certain: Inter is, once again, in the center of the world stage.
